The Town has engaged SRPEDD to perform an analysis of potential future uses along Rts. 6/118. Anticipating development along the corridor, the study will examine zoning, policy, and programmatic changes to achieve the best uses and foster economic development. Currently, the lack of sewer along Rts. 6/118 precludes new development and/or redevelopment. The study would identify an inventory of project-ready sites for redevelopment, accelerate private-sector investment in industrial and commercial projects, and support the conversion of underutilized properties and obsolete facilities into modern, tax-generating uses. Initial findings will be presented at the BOS meeting on March 12th. For more information, please visit the
project website, which includes a survey to solicit public feedback. Traveling workshops will be scheduled this spring to also gain community input. Details will follow and be posted on the project website.
